Monkey picked Oolong tea has a long history in China. Legend started at the early 18th century that monkeys were trained by monks in the temple of South China to pick the tenderest leaves from the tip-top of wild tea trees.

In ancient times, the monkey picked tea was presented to the Emperor and was enjoyed exclusively by the Imperial family. Eventually, it became more accessible to common people as commonly known Tie Guan Yin in nowadays, it just refer to the highest quality of the Tie Guan Yin.

It is a full bodied tea half way between green and black tea. The tea leaves are partially fermented before frying, thus it has a creamy and highly enjoyable sweet-flowery character, similar to Orchid aroma.

It gives you a slightly golden clear liquor with nice long lasting aroma. Definitely worth to try!
